YOUTH CONNECTIONS NAMES 2018 YOUTH WORKER OF THE YEAR

 

Lee Heap was named Youth Connections “Youth Worker of the Year for 2018

Heap, who was sworn in as a volunteer for Johnson County CASA on May 1, 2008, has advocated for 97 children in CHINS, paternity, guardianship and divorce cases.

She has been described as fearless, straight shooter and has an unbelievable commitment to children.  Judge Mark Lloyd said Lee was a fateful, hardworking volunteer, well prepared, articulate and an aggressive advocate for children.

The Youth Worker of the Year award is given each year at the annual Breakfast of Champions to an individual who goes above and beyond what is expected in working with youth.

For 42 years, Youth Connections has been serving the Johnson, Morgan and Brown County communities through its various programs which include Safe Place/Host Home; Custody Evaluations; Children’s Visitation Center, Families in Transition, Jumpstart and community awareness on human trafficking.
