Under the current grant cycle, YPIJC is no longer under Youth Connections. YPIJC is now hosted by the Johnson County Community Foundation.  For more information, see contact information below.

                                                                                                    

YPIJC is a countywide leadership program focused on inspiring excellence in young people. The program equips young people with opportunities, resources, mentors and tools to solve serious community issues while developing a lifelong commitment to philanthropy.

Mission: Empowering Young People as community leaders who give their time, talent and treasure for the common good.

Vision:That Young People from all walks of life in Johnson County will develop leadership skills and become aware, educated, and actively involved in philanthropy.

School-Based Philanthropy Clubs:
Students from all over Johnson County are getting involved in philanthropy, leadership, citizenship, grant making and community service.  Students are taking action through:

LEADERSHIP
Each school club has members who serve on a countywide Action Board that makes critical decisions about funding youth led service projects.

GRANTS
Local school clubs organize fall and spring workshops to equip youth and adults with skills to apply for grants opportunities.

FUND DEVELOPMENT
Each school club leads the charge to ensure that YPIJC has funding for clubs and grant pools by launching innovative campaigns.

CITIZENSHIP
Youth leaders in the school clubs work to connect elected officials and youth on addressing serious issues in our community.

SERVICE
Walking the talk, all school clubs are involved in developing and implementing a service project to address a serious community need.
