Community Outreach

Our community outreach programs are designed to inform the community of issues that are facing youth today and to give them resources to cope with these issues.  

Safe Place:

Safe Place is a national program that helps young people who are having trouble and are in need of somewhere to turn.  With the aid of local businesses, volunteers, and youth agencies, Safe Place is able to meet the needs of these young people whenever and wherever needed.  A Safe Place representative is always available through a 24-hour helpline.  1.866.738.KIDS (5437).

Human Trafficking Awareness:

Providing community awareness and education on this horrific epidemic. Youth Connections explains the definition of human trafficking, current statistics, and what to look for if you suspect human trafficking.

          Substance Abuse Awareness:

Providing youths with information on the dangers of prescriptions drugs, street drugs, tobacco, vaping and alcohol usage. We partner with Drug-Free Johnson County and Empower Johnson County to provide information to students and their parents on all substance abuse issues.

Healthy Relations:

Providing youth, the knowledge of what “Love” is. Discussing with youth the steps to positive and loving relationships. Explore the positives and negative issues of having sexual relations. Advising and guiding youth to make wise decisions on social media.  What to do if a relationship turns bad.
