What does youth mentoring provide?
Youth Connections offers the Overcoming Obstactles curriculum as part of our mentoring program. “Overcoming Obstacles”is a curriculum which includes activities on communicating effectively, making decisions, setting goals, respect, teamwork, citizenship, techniques for addressing bullying, and preparing for college and career will be used. The program is individually tailored to students grades 3 through 8. The program will last through the year and be two days a week for two hours at a time. This program also includes a service learning project that the students create, set up and complete.
We offer the mentoring program at two of our partner locations The Martinsville Youth Development Center and the Boys and Girls Club in Franklin.
